Description:

The lab assistants will be opening and sorting samples, collecting samples, inputting information into lab information system, verifying patient information, additional responsibilities include cutting and coating the kit samples, as well as collect all samples label and prep them for the techs, as well as enter the kits data into the system when the techs have completed testing.

Receive and quarantine all specimen packages.

Open and sort specimens.

Check specimens for acceptance criteria.

Separate and properly code all non-testable specimens.

Enter and verify (accession) all specimen information into LIS (Laboratory Information System)

Assist in strip manufacturing duties, including cutting and preparing strips for coating.

Receive and log in any deliveries of laboratory supplies.

Assist in manual entry and verification of laboratory results.

All other duties assigned by the Laboratory Manager and/or Laboratory Supervisor.

Notify his/her supervisor of any possible deviations from documented procedures.
